لما اتكلتَ على إلهك دائماً

كان الإله إليك خير معينِ

Because you have always placed your trust in your God,

Since you have leaned upon your God always,

Since you have always relied on your God,

God has been the best of helpers to you.

God has been to you the best of helpers,

God has been your best helper.

وسقاك من صافي شراب وداده

وسقاك من صافي شراب وداده

وسقى العدوّ الكأس من غسلين

وسقى العدوّ الكأس من غسلين

He gave you to drink from the pure draught of His love,

and He gave you to drink of the pure draught of His love,

And He gave you to drink of the pure draught of His love,

And made the enemy drink a cup of ghislīn.

And gave the enemy a cup of foul discharge.

وكذاك في الأخرى تكون مظفّراً

وكذاك في الأخرى تكون مظفّراً

في جنّة المأوى بحور العين

And likewise, in the Hereafter, you shall be dust-covered,

And so too in the life to come you shall be granted triumph,

And likewise, in the hereafter you will be victorious,

In the Garden of Refuge, among the wide-eyed houris.

لم تسع في ضرر امرئٍ لكنما

سعواك في إصلاح ذات البين

You did not strive to harm a single person; rather,

You never strove to bring harm upon any man; rather,

You did not strive to harm anyone; rather,

Your striving was to reconcile people.

your striving went to mending what lay between people.

Your striving was to mend relations.

واللَه جلّ جلاله مع من غدا

واللَه جلّ جلاله مع من غدا

في نصحه للناس خير أمين

في نصحه للناس خير أمين

And God—exalted be His majesty—is with whoever proves himself

And God — majestic is His majesty — is with the one who has become,

And God—exalted is His majesty—is with whoever proves

In counseling the people, an excellent and trustworthy guide.
