فَلَوSo if بِكَafflicting you ماwhat بيafflicts me لاmay not يَكُنit be بِكَafflicting you لاغتَدىit would surely come at dawn
فَلَو بِكَ ما بي لا يَكُن بِكَ لاغتَدى
إِلَيكَto you وَراحَand come at dusk البرُّkindness بيtoward me وَالتقرُّبُand seeking closeness
إِلَيكَ وَراحَ البرُّ بي وَالتقرُّبُ
If what ails me ailed you—may it never ail you—there would come at dawn
Without you, what is within me would not exist
To you, and again at dusk, kindness toward me and the seeking of closeness.
Toward you has the goodness in me and my drawing nearer journeyed
