كَذَبَتlied أُرُبّاEurope حِينَwhen أَنكَرَتِdenied السَّماthe sky
كشَّافُهاits explorers لِقُلُوبِهاto its hearts ذاتِpossessing العَمىblindness
Europe lied when the sky was denied
The Arabs have lied in denying the sky
by its explorers to its blind hearts.
Their revealer to their blind hearts
إِنَّindeed السَّماءَthe sky لِلُطفِهاbecause of its fineness كَزُجاجَةٍlike a piece of glass
تَخفَىis hidden لَدَىin الجارِيflowing water فَجرِّبso try تَعلَماyou will know
Indeed, the sky, in its fineness, is like a piece of glass
Indeed the sky in its subtlety is like a bottle
that disappears in flowing water; try it, and you will know.
Hidden to the servant, so try and you will know
واقرَأand read لِتُهدىso you may be guided آيَةَthe verse الصَّرحِthe palace الَّذيwhich
سَوَّىbuilt سُلَيمانٌSolomon عَلىover حُوتٍfish وَماand water
And read, to be guided, the verse about the palace that
And read to be guided the verse of the palace which
Solomon built over fish and water.
Solomon built upon a whale and what
وَانظُرand look إِلىat الصَّرحِthe palace اختَفَىvanished مَعَdespite قُربِهِits nearness
فكَيفَso how لاnot تَخفَىbe hidden عَلىat بُعدٍa distance سَماsky
And look at the palace: it vanished despite its nearness;
And look to the palace, it disappeared despite its nearness
how, then, should the sky not be hidden at a distance?
So how can it not be hidden from a distance, O sky
لَكِنbut غُبارُdust الجَوِّthe air يُخفِيconceals لُطفَهاits fineness
فَلِذاso, for this reason أُرِيناهاwe were shown it إِراءًa showing مُحكَماdefinite
But the dust of the air conceals its fineness,
But the dust of the air hides its subtlety
so we have been shown it with assured clarity.
Thus we see it firmly established
وَاعلَمand know إِذاif قَدindeed سُلِّمَتis conceded هَذِيthis لَهُمto them
فالدِّينُthen religion قَدindeed جَثُّوهُthey uprooted it جَثّاًan uprooting مُعظَماmighty
And know: if this is indeed conceded to them,
And know when this is surrendered to them
then they have uprooted religion with a mighty uprooting.
They have undermined religion, how greatly
وَانظُرand look وَراجِعand reconsider بَعدَماafter قَدindeed حَرَّفُواthey distorted
آيَthe verses الكِتابِthe Book تَعَنُّتاًobstinacy وَتَعَظُّماand arrogance
And look and reconsider, after they have distorted
And look and examine after they have distorted
the verses of the Book out of obstinacy and arrogance.
The verses of the Book obstinately and arrogantly
بَلrather كَذَّبُواthey called liars الرُّسلَthe messengers الكِرامَnoble وَجَهَّلُواand they deemed ignorant
خَيرَthe best of الأَنامِhumankind مُحَمَّداًMuhammad ماhow أَعظَماgreat!
Rather, they called the noble messengers liars and deemed ignorant
Rather, they denied the noble messengers and insulted
the best of humankind, Muhammad—how great!
The best of creations, Muhammad—how tremendous
هَلwhether كانَwas يُدعىbe called واحِدٌany one مِنهُمof them عَلَىwith
هَذِيthese الجَرائِمِthe crimes فيunder الشَّريعَةِthe sacred law مُسلِماa Muslim
Could any one of them be called, with
Would any one of them be called upon these crimes
these crimes, a Muslim under the sacred law?
In Islamic law a Muslim?
سُحقاًperdition لَهاto it مِنas a فِرقَةfaction خَدَّاعَةٍdeceitful
سَحَرُواthey bewitched غَبِيّاًfoolish مُؤمِناًbelieving مُستَسلِماsubmissive
Perdition to it—what a deceitful faction!
Damned is this deceitful sect
They bewitched a foolish, submissive believer.
Who have bewitched a foolish, believing Muslim
مَهstop! لاdo not تُعَظِّمexalt زُخرُفاًglittering ornament خَدَعُواthey deceived بِهِwith it
قَدindeed كانَwas نَقضُهُمُtheir violation الشَّريعَةَthe sacred law أَعظَماgreater
Stop! Do not exalt the glitter they used to deceive.
Don't respect the trappings they have deceived with
Indeed, their violation of the sacred law was greater.
Their violation of Islamic law was even greater
باعُواthey sold الشَّريعَةَthe sacred law لِلأَعادِيto the enemies بِالدُّناfor worldly gain
وَاستَبدَلُواand they substituted عاراًdisgrace بِهاin exchange for it والمَأثَمَاand sin
They sold the sacred law to the enemies for worldly gain,
They sold the Shariah to the enemies for worldly gain
and took disgrace and sin in exchange for it.
And replaced it with shame and sin
جاهِدهُمُstrive against them إِنif كُنتَyou are عَبداًa servant مُؤمِناًbelieving
إِنَّindeed الدِّفاعَdefense عَنِof الشَّريعَةِthe sacred law حُتِّماwas made obligatory
Strive against them if you are a believing servant.
Struggle against them if you are a believing servant
Indeed, defending the sacred law has been made obligatory.
Defending the Shariah is obligatory
