رَحمَةَmercy المُبتَغيthe seeker of ثَوابَthe reward of الجِهادِjihad; striving for God's cause
رَحمَةَ المُبتَغي ثَوابَ الجِهادِ
May God have mercy on Nāfiʿ ibn Budayl,
May God have mercy on Nafe' ibn Budayl
With the mercy granted to one seeking the reward of jihad.
With the mercy sought by one who desires the reward of jihad
صابِرٌsteadfast صادِقٌtruthful وَفِيٌّloyal إِذاwhen ماever (emphasizing 'when')
صابِرٌ صادِقٌ وَفِيٌّ إِذا ما
أَكثَرُmost of القَومِthe people قالَspoke قَولَwords of السَدادِsound judgment
أَكثَرُ القَومِ قالَ قَولَ السَدادِ
Steadfast, truthful, loyal, whenever
Patient, truthful and loyal when
Most of the people spoke words of sound judgment.
Most of the people speak words of integrity
