تحكيmirrors بهنّthrough them الأرضthe earth شكلthe form of سمائهاits sky
تحكي بهنّ الأرض شكل سمائها
Behold the lamps of joy, now that
Look at the lamps of joy, for now
Look at the lights of joy, for they have become
through them the earth has come to mimic the form of its sky:
Through them the earth mirrors the form of its sky,
Telling the earth in their beauty the shape of its skies
كقلوبlike the hearts of أعداءthe enemies of الخديوthe Khedive بنارهاin their fire
كقلوب أعداء الخديو بنارها
وقلوبand the hearts of أهلthose who bear ودادهlove for him بضيائهاin their radiance
وقلوب أهل وداده بضيائها
in their fire, they are like the hearts of the Khedive’s enemies,
Like the hearts of the Khedive’s enemies in their fire,
Like the hearts of the Khedive's enemies in their fire
and in their radiance, like the hearts of his beloved intimates.
