Through God-given success, the Khedive renewed a mosque;

A mosque was renovated by Tawfiq the Khedive.

With the grace of the Khedive I found a mosque

Its beauty became, in Alexandria, a delight to every eye.

Its beauty became a delight to the eyes in the port city.

Whose beauty has brought joy to this land

Upon it the radiance of al-Mursi shone, proclaiming its date:

It was built in the year one thousand two hundred sixty nine

“For the grace of Abu al-Abbas, his congregational mosque was built.”

In honor of Abu al-Abbas's virtue, his congregational mosque was built.

Through the generosity of Abul Abbas, who founded it
