لقَد ذَهَبَ الأنسُ والمانعونَ

لقَد ذَهَبَ الأنسُ والمانعونَ

ومن كان يسكَنُ في ظلّه!

ومن كان يسكَنُ في ظلّه!

Indeed, companionship and the protectors have departed,

The intimates have gone away, and the withholders,

and whoever used to dwell in its shade!

And those who dwelt in the shade of companionship!
