صموتٌ إذا ما الصمتُ زيَّن أهله

صموتٌ إذا ما الصمتُ زيَّن أهله

وفتاقُ أبكارِ الكلام المختم

وفتاقُ أبكارِ الكلام المختم

He keeps silent whenever silence adorns those who keep it,

Silence is graceful when graced by those observing it

And he unlocks the virgin utterances of sealed speech.

As eloquence adorns the virgins of speech

وعى ما وعى القرآن من كل حكمةٍ

وعى ما وعى القرآن من كل حكمةٍ

وسيطت له الآداب باللحم والدم

وسيطت له الآداب باللحم والدم

He has absorbed all the wisdom the Qur’an contains,

It encompasses all the wisdom contained in the Quran

And good manners have been mingled with his flesh and blood.

With refined manners embodied in flesh and blood
