وَإِذاand when صاحَبتَyou keep company فَاِصحَبthen keep company with ماجِداًa noble man
وَإِذا صاحَبتَ فَاِصحَب ماجِداً
ذاpossessing عَفافٍchastity وَحَياءٍand modesty وَكَرَمand generosity
ذا عَفافٍ وَحَياءٍ وَكَرَم
And when you choose a companion, choose a noble man,
When you befriend, befriend one noble
possessed of chastity, modesty, and generosity.
Of modesty, reserve and generosity
قَولُهُhis answer لِلشَيءِon the matter لاno إِنif قُلتَyou say لاno
قَولُهُ لِلشَيءِ لا إِن قُلتَ لا
وَإِذاand when قُلتَyou say نَعَمyes قالَhe says نَعَمyes
وَإِذا قُلتَ نَعَم قالَ نَعَم
His answer on a matter is 'no' if you say 'no',
His answer to all things is not "no" if you say "no"
and when you say 'yes', he says 'yes'.
And if you say "yes" he says "yes"
