We do not, though our forebears were noble,

Though our beginnings were noble

ever rely on ancestral honors.

In times when clans were held in awe

نَبني كَما كانَت أَوائِلُنا

تَبني وَنَفعَلُ مِثلَ ما فَعَلوا

We build as our forebears used

We do not, as our ancestors did,
