لَقَد أَنكَحتَ خَوفَ الهَزلِ عَبداً

لَقَد أَنكَحتَ خَوفَ الهَزلِ عَبداً

وَصِهرُ العَبدِ أَدنى للهُزالِ

وَصِهرُ العَبدِ أَدنى للهُزالِ

You have indeed given her in marriage to a slave for fear of wasting away;

You have wedded fear of jest a slave,

And kinship by marriage with a slave brings one closer to wasting away.

And kin of slave is prone to fall.
