يُجَمِّعُhe gathers أَحبابَlovers of الفصيحةِeloquent Arabic كلّماwhenever
تَبَدَّىappeared لهto him مَنْsomeone who كانَwas لِلشِّعرِof poetry راوِياa reciter
He gathers lovers of eloquent Arabic whenever
He gathers the connoisseurs of eloquence whenever
Someone who recites poetry comes to his notice.
A narrator of poetry comes into view
ويَبْعَثُand he resurrects مِنْfrom تحتِbeneath التُّرابِthe earth روائعًاmasterpieces
فأصبحَthus he became للإبداعِfor creativity والشِّعرِand poetry راعِياa patron
And he resurrects masterpieces from beneath the earth,
And he brings forth from beneath the soil masterpieces
Thus becoming a patron of creativity and poetry.
Thus becoming the patron of creativity and verse

And he compiled a lexicon of Arab poetry,
And compiled for Arabic poetry a lexicon
So neither the West nor Australia stands beyond reach.
So neither West nor Australia were kept away

So blessed be he as a man, and blessed be he as a poet.
Blessed be the man and blessed the poet
And would that he had a counterpart in the service of poetry.
Would that he have a second in serving poetry
