Though you are neither a governor

Although you have neither hammer

in Siddin nor a judge,

Nor judge to bring us together

تُرى أجمع للحدَّين

تُرى أجمع للحدَّين

من مِسمارِ مِقراضِ

من مِسمارِ مِقراضِ

you seem to join the two edges more closely

Perhaps a single nail

than the pivot-pin of a pair of shears.
