قُم قبلَ موتِ جَريح جَف
نِكَend of 'eyelid' with 'your' فالتمِسso seek هَرباًescape وبادِرand hasten
نِكَ فالتمِس هَرباً وبادِر
Rise before the death of the one wounded by
Rise before a wounded coward flees
your eyelid; seek escape and make haste.
Seek refuge and hasten your escape
إنindeed الملوكَthe kings أباAbu (in direct address) عليAli
إن الملوكَ أبا علي
ليسnot تُهمِلُthey neglect فيكَwhere you are concerned شاعِرa poet
ليس تُهمِلُ فيكَ شاعِر
Indeed, the kings, Abu Ali,
The kings, oh Abu Ali
do not disregard a poet where you are concerned.
Will not neglect their poet
