Nor because you increasingly mention me,

Come, tell me, what is your issue with me, if
I grow attached, should I attach my fate?
I have become totally devoted to it?

Specializing in complaining rather than gratitude,

He blamed me for it and I let it flow
and blame for what flows rests upon the one who makes it flow.
While the blame lies with the flowing stream, not the diverter,

did you become faithful fulfillers of the vow?
Did you become the least bound by vows?

Our companionship has lasted long,
The company between us has lasted long
while she, out of modesty, stays in her secluded chamber.

that was transparent, and we came to the brink of drunkenness.

Our oath, or to break it,

Ah, fate's decrees and how they run their course!
Oh destiny and how it flows!
