مُنصِتَةٌlistening intently تَسمَعُshe hears ماwhat يَقولُhe says
مُنصِتَةٌ تَسمَعُ ما يَقولُ
كالخُلدِlike the mole لمَّاwhen قابَلَتهُmet it الغُولُthe ghoul
كالخُلدِ لمَّا قابَلَتهُ الغُولُ
Listening intently, she hears what he says,
A listener hearing what is said
like the mole when the ghoul met it.
Like eternity when met by fate
