واستَبقِنِي لكَ دونَ الناسِ مَملوكا
Hold your eyelids back from my heart, for they have triumphed.
I beg of you, spare my heart your coy glances, for you have conquered me already.
And keep me for yourself, apart from all others, as a slave.
Keep me for yourself, your slave above all mankind.

My heart, those eyelids of yours, O pauper—a pauper.
