Go, for nothing will meet you in

al-Zaʿrūr that alarms my heart.

لا ولا في كلِّ أرضٍ

لا ولا في كلِّ أرضٍ

حَسبُكَ اللَهُ وحَسبي

حَسبُكَ اللَهُ وحَسبي

No, nor in any land;

God is enough for you, and enough for me.

فإذا صِرتَ بصورٍ

فإذا صِرتَ بصورٍ

آمناً من كلِّ رعبِ

آمناً من كلِّ رعبِ

So when you have reached Tyre,

safe from every terror,

فاحذرِ المكمنَ في جا

فاحذرِ المكمنَ في جا

مِعِها شاماً بغَربِ

مِعِها شاماً بغَربِ

then beware the ambush in

its mosque—a Shām in the west.

كم لعبدِ الصمد الورا

قِ من سَبيٍ ونهبِ

قِ من سَبيٍ ونهبِ

How much has ʿAbd al-Ṣamad al-Warrāq

taken in captives and plunder,

بشهاداتٍ كما يَف

بشهاداتٍ كما يَف

علُ في الحقِّ وكتبِ

علُ في الحقِّ وكتبِ

through testimonies, just as he

does with rights and documents!

وهو تحت الغوطةِ الز

وهو تحت الغوطةِ الز

زَرقاءِ خافٍ مُتخبّي

زَرقاءِ خافٍ مُتخبّي

And he is beneath the Ghouta,

the blue one, hidden and hiding away.
