زَفَفتُI escorted in bridal procession إلىto نَبهانَNabhan منfrom صَفوِthe pure essence فِكرَتيof my thought
زَفَفتُ إلى نَبهانَ من صَفوِ فِكرَتي
عَروساًa bride غَداbecame بطنُthe interior الكتابِof the book لهاfor her خِدراa bridal chamber
عَروساً غَدا بطنُ الكتابِ لها خِدرا
I led to Nabhan, from the pure essence of my thought,
a bride for whom the book’s interior became a bridal chamber.
فقبَّلهاso he kissed her عَشراًten times وأظهرَand showed حُبَّهاhis love for her
فقبَّلها عَشراً وأظهرَ حُبَّها
فلماbut when ذكرتُI mentioned المهرَthe dower طلَّقهاhe divorced her عَشراten times
فلما ذكرتُ المهرَ طلَّقها عَشرا
So he kissed her ten times and showed his love for her.
But when I mentioned the dower, he divorced her ten times.
