لا تظُنَّنَّ ما تمكَّنتُ مِنهُ

مِن زَماني صَنيعَةً لزَماني

مِن زَماني صَنيعَةً لزَماني

Do not suppose that what I have attained

Do not think what you have mastered

From my time is a favor bestowed by my time.

Of my time is made for my time

أيُّما لَيلَةٍ صفَت لي يُكدِّر

أيُّما لَيلَةٍ صفَت لي يُكدِّر

ها عَليَّ ادِّكارُ من يَنساني

ها عَليَّ ادِّكارُ من يَنساني

Any night that grows serene for me is clouded

Whatever night has cleared for me to grieve

For me by the remembrance of one who forgets me.

Upon me is the memory of those who forget me

وَإذا ما تَكامَلَت عِندكَ القُو

وَإذا ما تَكامَلَت عِندكَ القُو

وَةُ فاحذَر مُستَضعَف الأجفانِ

وَةُ فاحذَر مُستَضعَف الأجفانِ

And when your strength becomes complete,

And when strength is complete in you

Then beware the one whose eyelids seem weak.
