سَيحظى شهابُ الدِّين فيما يرومه

سَيحظى شهابُ الدِّين فيما يرومه

ويبلُغُ في الأيام ما هو أهلُهُ

ويبلُغُ في الأيام ما هو أهلُهُ

Shihab al-Din will succeed in what he seeks,

Shahab al-Din will achieve his aims,

And in time attain what he is worthy of.

And in time reach what he deserves.

ويُنصِفُ هذا الدهر يوماً بحكمه

ويُنصِفُ هذا الدهر يوماً بحكمه

فينحطّ شانيه ويعلو محلّه

فينحطّ شانيه ويعلو محلّه

And this age will one day be fair in its judgment,

One day his rule will make this age just,

So his hater will fall, and his standing will rise.

Lowering his detractors, raising his status.

ويرفع هذا العالمَ البحرَ عِلْمُه

ويرفع هذا العالمَ البحرَ عِلْمُه

ويخفض ذاك الجاهلَ الغمرَ جهله

ويخفض ذاك الجاهلَ الغمرَ جهله

And his knowledge will exalt this scholar, an ocean of learning,

His knowledge will lift this world like the sea,

And his ignorance will bring low that ignorant, inexperienced man.

While ignorance will lower the ignorant like a flood.

وكلٌّ يرى إذ ذاك ما يستحقّه

وكلٌّ يرى إذ ذاك ما يستحقّه

ويشغل كلاًّ في الحقيقة شغْلُه

ويشغل كلاًّ في الحقيقة شغْلُه

And each will then see what he deserves,

Then all will see what each truly merits,

And each will, in truth, be occupied by his own work.

And the truth will busy each one with their role.
