يا سيّد الساداتِ من هاشمٍ

يا سيّد الساداتِ من هاشمٍ

وواحدَ الأشرافِ في نُبْلِهِ

وواحدَ الأشرافِ في نُبْلِهِ

O lord of lords of Hashim,

O master of masters, from Hashim,

And peerless among the nobles in his nobility,

The sole noble among the nobles in his nobility,

وسابقُ الّلاحق من بعده

وسابقُ الّلاحق من بعده

واللاَّحق السابق من قبله

واللاَّحق السابق من قبله

And outstripping whoever comes after him,

The foremost of those to come after,

And catching up with whoever came before him.

The coming after of those gone before,

أَنْتَ كهذا الظلّ في فضله

أَنْتَ كهذا الظلّ في فضله

وجودُ هذا الغيث في نيله

وجودُ هذا الغيث في نيله

You are like this shade in its beneficence,

You are like this shade in its excellence,

And the bounty of this rain in its giving.

And the falling of this rain in its abundance,

أَنْتَ تقينا بأسَ ما نتّقي

أَنْتَ تقينا بأسَ ما نتّقي

وكلّ ما نخشاه من أجْلِهِ

وكلّ ما نخشاه من أجْلِهِ

You shield us from the harm of what we guard against,

You protect us from the evil we guard against,

And all that we fear on its account.

And all we fear on his account,
