ياO منزلَdwelling السّادةthe lords الأشرافِnoble قدalready نَزَلَتْhave settled
يا منزلَ السّادة الأشرافِ قد نَزَلَتْ
فيكwithin you الأماجدthe illustrious منamong أشرافthe nobles of عدنانAdnan
فيك الأماجد من أشراف عدنان
O dwelling of the noble lords, there have alighted
O dwelling of the noble lords, there have come to dwell
O home of the noble chiefs, they descended upon you,
within you illustrious men from the nobles of Adnan.
Within you the illustrious among the nobles of Adnan.
The glories from the chiefs of Adnan descended.
وأشرَقَتْand shone فيكwithin you كالأقمارlike moons أوجههمtheir faces
وأشرَقَتْ فيك كالأقمار أوجههم
وقدand perhaps يفوقونthey surpass فيin حُسنٍbeauty وإحسانand benevolence
وقد يفوقون في حُسنٍ وإحسان
Their faces have shone within you like moons,
And their faces have shone within you like moons,
Their faces shone like moons upon you,
and indeed they surpass them in beauty and benevolence.
And they may surpass them in beauty and benevolence.
Excelling in beauty and kindness.
وأَنْتَand you ياO منone who يجيلlets roam الطرفthe gaze حينئذat that moment
وأَنْتَ يا من يجيل الطرف حينئذ
فيin جنّةa paradise زُخْرِفَتْwas adorned منهمby them وبستانand a garden
في جنّة زُخْرِفَتْ منهم وبستان
And you, O you who let your gaze roam then,
And you, O you who let your gaze roam then,
You who sees them now, your eyes shine,
are amid a paradise adorned by them, and a garden.
Are in a paradise adorned by them, and a garden.
In a garden adorned by them like a paradise.
الحسنbeauty متّفقuniform فيهاwithin it وماand not اختلَفَتْit varied
الحسن متّفق فيها وما اختلَفَتْ
إلاَّexcept بأشكالin the forms of أزهارflowers وألوانand colors
إلاَّ بأشكال أزهار وألوان
Beauty is harmonious therein, and it differs
Beauty is uniform within it, and it does not vary
The beauty in concordance not differing,
only in the forms and colors of its flowers.
Except in the forms of flowers and colors.
Except by forms of flowers and colors.
منof كلِّevery زَوجkind بهيجlovely أنبتتit brought forth plants ورَبَتand flourished
من كلِّ زَوج بهيج أنبتت ورَبَت
لتنعشto revive الروحthe soul فيamid رَوحrepose وريحانand fragrant herbs
لتنعش الروح في رَوح وريحان
With every delightful kind it has sprouted and flourished,
It has brought forth plants of every lovely kind and flourished,
From each delightful pair it grew and nurtured,
reviving the soul amid repose and fragrant bounty.
To revive the soul amid repose and fragrant herbs.
To delight the soul with spirit and sweet basil.
فإنَّهاfor indeed it وأبيكby your father البَرّvirtuous قدalready بُنِيَتْwas built
فإنَّها وأبيك البَرّ قد بُنِيَتْ
دارa house of السرورjoy لأحبابfor loved ones وإخوانand brethren
دار السرور لأحباب وإخوان
For, by your righteous father, it has been built
For, by your virtuous father, it was built
It was built by your father the righteous,
as a house of joy for loved ones and brethren.
As a house of joy for loved ones and brethren.
The house of joy for loved ones and brothers.
فبوركتْso may it be blessed دارa house of ساداتlords مُؤَرَّخةdated
فبوركتْ دار سادات مُؤَرَّخة
وعُمِّرتand may it flourish دارُthe house of سلمانSalman بسلمانthrough Salman
وعُمِّرت دارُ سلمان بسلمان
Blessed be this house of noble lords—its date inscribed:
So blessed be the house of lords, its date recorded:
Blessed home of dated chiefs,
“May Salman’s house flourish through Salman.”
And may Salman’s house flourish through Salman.
And home of Salman renewed by Salman.
