O company of noble lords, may you never cease

To rise toward glory, elders and young men alike.

You have risen as stars, radiant with honor,

While bright stars rise from time to time.

May you be gladdened with joys we attain,

By glad tidings, as souls revive bodies.

Glad tidings of a boy who has gladdened your eyes

Have openly proclaimed the coming of goodness.

And since his radiant brow emerged from Diya al-Din,

It cleared stains and sorrows from the heart.

He springs from a spreading tree rooted in God's Messenger,

Which branched from him into boughs and shoots.

Through him it grew tall, towered in the heights, and rose,

Until, in glory, it rivaled Saturn in height.

When lofty nobility claims you are without equal

In glory, it offers proof of its claim.

O noblest of men in fatherhood, among sires of worthy sons,

And weightiest of men in the balance, if weighed against others,

May you be blessed in a son; mark the date of his birth:

Joy is complete with Dawud, son of Salman.
