أرى القاضي يشاركُ كلَّ حيٍّ

أرى القاضي يشاركُ كلَّ حيٍّ

وليسَ المَيْتُ ينجو مِنْ يَدَيْهِ

وليسَ المَيْتُ ينجو مِنْ يَدَيْهِ

I see the judge claim a share from every living soul,

I see the judge taking a share from everyone alive,

I see the judge shares with all the living,

And not even the dead escape his hands;

And the dead do not escape his hands.

Yet the dead cannot escape his grasp.

وأُقْسِمُ إنَّه لو مات أيرٌ

وأُقْسِمُ إنَّه لو مات أيرٌ

تَوَرَّثَ منه إحْدى خِصْيَتَيهِ
