بُشْراكَglad tidings to you فيof نَجْلٍa son نجيبٍnoble بداappeared
بُشْراكَ في نَجْلٍ نجيبٍ بدا
والبِشْرُand joy لماwhen حَلَّhe arrived لاno شكَّdoubt حَلْarrived
والبِشْرُ لما حَلَّ لا شكَّ حَلْ
Good tidings to you: a noble son has appeared,
Glad tidings to you of a noble son who has appeared!
I bring you glad tidings of a noble newborn
And joy, when he arrived, undoubtedly arrived as well.
And joy, when he arrived, surely arrived.
The good news, when it came, left no doubt
مناقبُvirtues الآباءthe forefathers تحيىlive anew بهthrough him
مناقبُ الآباء تحيى به
والسَّادةand the lords الغرُّthe illustrious الكرامthe generous الأُوَلْthose of old
والسَّادة الغرُّ الكرام الأُوَلْ
Through him, the virtues of his forefathers live again—
The virtues of the forefathers live anew through him,
The virtues of his ancestors are revived through him
Those illustrious, noble lords of old.
And those of the illustrious, generous lords of old.
The generous, noble, foremost masters
نورٌa light يريدwishes اللهGod إظهارهto reveal it
نورٌ يريد الله إظهاره
وشمسُand a sun فضلٍexcellence فيin العُلىthe heights لمhas not تَزَلْceased
وشمسُ فضلٍ في العُلى لم تَزَلْ
A light that God wills to reveal,
A light that God wishes to reveal,
A light that God wants to reveal
A sun of excellence that has never left the heights.
And a sun of excellence, ever abiding in the heights.
An everlasting sun of grace in the heights
قدindeed وُلِدَwas born الزَّاكيthe pure one فأرَّخْتُهso I composed his chronogram
قد وُلِدَ الزَّاكي فأرَّخْتُه
الخيرُgoodness فيin مولدِهِhis birth قدindeed حَصَلْhas come about
الخيرُ في مولدِهِ قد حَصَلْ
