Generosity did not die after Abd al-Wahid,
The excellent and generous Abdel Wahid has not died
And among his sons is the noble, magnanimous Mahmoud.
His noble and proud son Mahmoud remains

We have not lost his generosity in this life
And in his descendants that excellence remains.
It still exists in his progeny that bounty

And the branch is like the root: if its planting grounds are sound,
If its branches are purified, the offspring will thrive
The stem flourishes and bears fruit among its leaves.
It will prosper and bear fruit on its twigs

They came into being; thus their offspring are born for goodness.
Their offspring are born for virtue

I see none but them, of those who match them
From whom bounty is sought, or for whom deserts are crossed.
To ask a favor or extend a hand

If they encircle my neck with a necklace of their noble favors,
Were they to gift me with their noble qualities
Then they are the necklace, and my praise the neck.
They would be my greatest honor and source of pride

Radiant rhymes are adorned whenever these men are mentioned,
The short poem meters sing whenever they are mentioned
With what adorns and lends splendor to shy, graceful maidens.
Like precious gems and pearls on a thread
