And the gathering of nobles from every quarter:
great men, lords, nobles, and eminent notables.
Great lords and noble notables.

أرى فيه ما أمَّلْتُه منذ أزمان
Long before this, I had hoped of God
And even before this, my hope in God had been
that in it I would see what I had hoped for through the years.
To see in it what I had wished for ages.

And I never ceased beseeching God for what would delight me
And I never ceased praying to God for what might gladden me
in the sons of my noble companions and brothers.
Through the sons of my noble friends and my brothers.

Thus, praise be to God, it was a blessed marriage bond,
So, praise be to God, it was a blessed marriage bond,
bringing in my joys and carrying off my sorrows.
Bringing me joys and taking away my sorrows.

We rejoiced, and the people rejoiced in what they brought about,
We rejoiced, and the people rejoiced at what they brought,
on a momentous day—momentous indeed!
On a day of distinction—and what distinction!

فأرًّخْتُ عَقْدُ الخير دام بنعمان
May it endure in goodness, for joy and bliss;
And may it endure in well-being, bringing joys and bliss;
so I dated it: “The bond of goodness endured with Nu‘man.”
So I dated it: “May the blessed union endure with Nuʿmān.”
