Ah, how lovely—a convivial gathering grown radiant,

Ah, how lovely a gathering of fellowship that shone,

with the noble sayyids present there,

with the noble gentlemen present within it,

بطلعة مقرونة بالهنا

وأوجهٍ تطلع منها البدور

وأوجهٍ تطلع منها البدور

through an appearance attended by happiness,

with a countenance joined to happiness,

and faces from which full moons rise.

قَرَّتْ عيون المجد في عقدكم

وانشرحت منَّا لذاك الصدور

The eyes of glory rejoiced in your assembly,

and at that our hearts opened wide.

جاءَ بكم عُرسُ فتًى ماجدٍ

لباطن الأفراح فيه ظهور

A noble young man’s wedding brought you together;

in it, hidden joys come into view.

فيه البشارات وفيه الحبور

In good fortune’s ascendant and its approach,

With good fortune in the ascendant and drawing near,

in it are glad tidings, and in it is delight.
