كفاني المهماتِ عبدُ الغنيّ
وذلكand that مِنْfrom بَعضsome أَفضالِهِhis favors
وذلك مِنْ بَعض أَفضالِهِ
Abd al-Ghani has relieved me of my burdens,
And that is but part of his favors.
فإنْso if نِلْتُI gained مالاًwealth فمنthen from جاهِهِhis standing
فإنْ نِلْتُ مالاً فمن جاهِهِ
وإنْand if نِلْتُI gained جاهاًstanding فمنthen from مالِهِhis wealth
وإنْ نِلْتُ جاهاً فمن مالِهِ
So if I have gained wealth, it is through his standing,
And if I have gained standing, it is through his wealth.
