لِيَهْنِكُمُ زواجٌ في هناءِ

به انشرحت لأقوامٍ صدورُ

May a blissful marriage bring you joy,

A marriage brings you joy and bliss

Through it, people's hearts have opened in gladness.

I have explained to people, it gives relief

ترون الخير مجلوباً إليه

ترون الخير مجلوباً إليه

وفي أطرافه الخير الكثير

وفي أطرافه الخير الكثير

You see goodness brought to it,

You see goodness brought to it

And abundant goodness all around it.

And around it there is ample good

ويطرب في مغانيكم محبٌّ

ويطرب في مغانيكم محبٌّ

يبوح لكم بما كتم الضمير

يبوح لكم بما كتم الضمير

And a loving friend rejoices in your dwellings,

A lover revels in your songs

Revealing to you what his heart concealed.

Confiding in you what conscience concealed

تَقَرّ العين فيكم إن تراكم

تَقَرّ العين فيكم إن تراكم

وفي أخلاقكم كرمٌ وخيرُ

وفي أخلاقكم كرمٌ وخيرُ

The eye finds joy in you if it beholds you,

Eyes find comfort beholding you

And in your character are generosity and goodness.

And in your manners lie generosity and goodness

إذا سُدتُم وكنتم حيث أهوى

إذا سُدتُم وكنتم حيث أهوى

وما فيكم بمكرمة قصور

وما فيكم بمكرمة قصور

When you rise to eminence and are where I wish you to be,

When you are leaders where I yearn

And you fall short in no noble deed.

No lack of noble deeds in you

ولا عجباً إذا ما ساد شبلٌ

ولا عجباً إذا ما ساد شبلٌ

أبوه ذلك الأسد الهصور

أبوه ذلك الأسد الهصور

Nor is it any wonder when a lion cub holds sway,

No wonder if a cub should lead

Whose father is that fierce lion.

Its father is that valiant lion

ألا يا عمَّ أبناءٍ كرام

ألا يا عمَّ أبناءٍ كرام

تَعمُّ به السعادة والحبور

تَعمُّ به السعادة والحبور

Behold, O uncle of noble sons,

O noble sons of a generous uncle

Through whom happiness and joy spread,

Spreading prosperity and felicity

ومهدي العالمين إلى رشاد

ومهدي العالمين إلى رشاد

يلوح به لعلم منك نور

يلوح به لعلم منك نور

And guide of all humankind to righteousness,

Mahdi guiding the world aright

Through whom a light of your learning gleams,

From your knowledge radiates a light

بذكر تطمئن به قلوب

بذكر تطمئن به قلوب

ووعظ قد تلين له الصخور

ووعظ قد تلين له الصخور

With remembrance by which hearts find peace,

With your preaching hearts are calmed

And exhortation before which rocks may soften.

Even rocks made pliant at your word

تهنّ بذلك التزويج ممن

تهنّ بذلك التزويج ممن

بها الأيام تشرق والشهور

بها الأيام تشرق والشهور

Rejoice in that marriage to one

Rejoice in that wedding of one

Through whom the days and months shine.

Through whom days and months shine bright

وسُرَّ به كما تبغي وأرّخ

وسُرَّ به كما تبغي وأرّخ

ففي تزويج نعمان سرور

ففي تزويج نعمان سرور

And rejoice in it as you wish, and record the date:

And be glad as you wish: record

For in Nuʿman's marriage there is joy.
