Glory be to Him who created every noble virtue
Glory to Him who created all noble virtues
And built it into that house of lofty structure.
in that house whose structure towers high.

The garden of sorrow, watered by life-giving rain, has come to bloom;
The upland garden, watered by rain, has become
Its beauties please, and pleasant is its air.
lovely in its beauties and pleasing in its air.

The breeze bearing the spirits of the east wind travels to it,
A breeze from the east wind's breaths steals toward it,
And all its reaches breathe fragrance from those wafts.
and its expanses breathe fragrance in its wafts.

A springtime in season and in bounty—
Its autumn and winter pass continually.
thus its autumn and winter always pass.

He has never ceased graciously bestowing kindness upon me—
He has never ceased granting me kindness in generosity,
A patron to whom my allegiance is among my binding duties.
a patron to whom loyalty is one of my obligations.

It is as though a poet drank the morning wine
It is as though a poet has drunk wine at dawn
Of praising him, his verse becoming its tawny wine.
in praising him: his verse is his tawny wine.

May God preserve noble deeds—and here they are,
May God preserve noble deeds; behold, the two—
He and they inseparable: their survival is his, and his is theirs.
their endurance and his—are bound together.
