A ship built in India—at her making,
A ship was built in India when it was built
She was the best-guided of ships in sailing, and the swiftest.
The best of ships in sailing and in speed

Obedient to the wind, whenever she sails, she sails with it.
It obeys the wind, wherever it blows, it sails with it
And her course does not diverge from its course.
Never against its course does its course go

The ship of the sea—her sailing is in God's name.
The ship of the sea, in God's name, sails on
