فَيا مَلِكاً لَم يَبقَ لِلدَينِ غَيرَهُ

فَيا مَلِكاً لَم يَبقَ لِلدَينِ غَيرَهُ

وَهَت عُمُدُ الإِسلامِ فَاِشدُد لَها دَعما

وَهَت عُمُدُ الإِسلامِ فَاِشدُد لَها دَعما

So, O king, the faith has no one left but you;

O king, none remains for religion but him,

Islam's pillars have weakened; give them firm support.

And the pillars of Islam have wavered, so support it firmly,

فَشُؤمُ فَرقِ الشِركِ في الشامِ طائِرُ

فَشُؤمُ فَرقِ الشِركِ في الشامِ طائِرُ

فَقُصَّ جَناحَيهِ بِأَقصى القُوى قَمصا

فَقُصَّ جَناحَيهِ بِأَقصى القُوى قَمصا

For the ill omen of idolatry's factions flies in al-Sham;

The ill omens of polytheism's division are foreboding in Syria,

so clip both its wings with utmost force, shattering them.

So clip its wings completely with the utmost strength.

خُصِّصَت بِتَمكينِ فَعُمَّ العِدا رَدىً

خُصِّصَت بِتَمكينِ فَعُمَّ العِدا رَدىً

فَإِنَّهُم يَأجوجٌ أَفرَغَ بِهِم رَدما

فَإِنَّهُم يَأجوجٌ أَفرَغَ بِهِم رَدما

You have been specially granted power; overwhelm the foes with death.

You were given to strengthen, so the enemies spread corruption,

For they are Gog; pour a rampart over them.

For they are Gog and Magog, against whom a barrier was built.

إِذا صَفَرَت مِن آلِ الأَصفَرَ ساحَةَ ال

إِذا صَفَرَت مِن آلِ الأَصفَرَ ساحَةَ ال

مُقَدَّسِ ضاهَت فَتحَ أُمُّ القُرى قِدما

مُقَدَّسِ ضاهَت فَتحَ أُمُّ القُرى قِدما

When the house of al-Asfar is cleared from the precinct of the

When the lineage of the yellow one laid waste to the sanctified courtyard,

Holy City, that will rival the conquest of Umm al-Qura of old.

The opening of the mother of cities was equaled, step for step.

فَذا المَسجِدِ الأَقصى وَهَمتُكَ العُلى

فَذا المَسجِدِ الأَقصى وَهَمتُكَ العُلى

وَعَزمتُكَ القُصوى وَرَمَيتُكَ الصَما

وَعَزمتُكَ القُصوى وَرَمَيتُكَ الصَما

Here is al-Aqsa Mosque, and your lofty ambition,

So by this Aqsa Mosque, your highest aspiration,

and your utmost resolve, and your deadly shot.

Your utmost determination, and your decisive resolve,

فَما هُوَ إِلّا أَن تَهَمَّ وَقَد أَتَت

فَما هُوَ إِلّا أَن تَهَمَّ وَقَد أَتَت

فُتوحٌ كَما فاضَ الخِضَمُّ الَّذي طَمّا

فُتوحٌ كَما فاضَ الخِضَمُّ الَّذي طَمّا

You need only resolve, and at once there will come

It is nothing but for you to be determined, and openings have come

conquests, like the overflowing ocean as it swells.

Like a torrential flood that has obliterated all landmarks.

وَإِن أَنتَ لَم تَرِدِ الفِرِنجَ بِوَقعَةٍ

وَإِن أَنتَ لَم تَرِدِ الفِرِنجَ بِوَقعَةٍ

فَمَن ذا الَّذي يَقوى لِبُنيانِها هَدَما

فَمَن ذا الَّذي يَقوى لِبُنيانِها هَدَما

And if you do not confront the Franks in battle,

And if you do not want to strike the Franks with a blow,

then who has the strength to demolish their edifice?

Then who can demolish its building and raze it to the ground?

وَما كُلُّ حينٍ تُمكِنُ المَرءَ فُرصَةٌ

وَما كُلُّ حينٍ تُمكِنُ المَرءَ فُرصَةٌ

وَلا كُلُّ حالٍ أَمكَنَت تَقتَضي غَنما

وَلا كُلُّ حالٍ أَمكَنَت تَقتَضي غَنما

Not at every moment is an opportunity available to a man,

Not every time can one seize an opportunity,

nor does every favorable circumstance yield gain.

Nor does every situation allow what would bring prosperity.

وَلَيسَ كَفَتحِ القُدسِ مُنيَةَ قادِرٍ

وَلَيسَ كَفَتحِ القُدسِ مُنيَةَ قادِرٍ

وَما أَن تَلَقّاها سِوى يوسُفَ جَزَما

وَما أَن تَلَقّاها سِوى يوسُفَ جَزَما

And no capable man's aspiration equals the conquest of Jerusalem;

And there is no conquest like Jerusalem under a leader’s command,

and none but Yusuf has taken it up with firm resolve.

Nor anything to receive it except Yusuf’s firm resolve.
