ياO زائِراًvisitor جَنَباتِthe reaches of الشامِal-Sham مُعتَبِراًreflecting
يا زائِراً جَنَباتِ الشامِ مُعتَبِراً
أَحرِمenter ritual consecration فَأَنتَfor you are بِحَجزٍwithin an enclosure غَيرِnot مَحجورِbarred
أَحرِم فَأَنتَ بِحَجزٍ غَيرِ مَحجورِ
O visitor to the reaches of al-Sham, reflecting,
O traveler to the lands of al-Sham with purpose,
Enter ritual consecration, for you are within a precinct not barred.
Pledge allegiance, for you are in protected lands unrestricted,
فَماfor there is no بِهاin it بَلَدٌtown لَمdid not يَغشَهُvisit it بَدَلٌa saint of the abdāl
فَما بِها بَلَدٌ لَم يَغشَهُ بَدَلٌ
أَوor مُرسَلٌa messenger بِكِتابِwith a scripture غَيرِnot مَهجورِforsaken
أَو مُرسَلٌ بِكِتابِ غَيرِ مَهجورِ
For no town there has gone unvisited by a saint,
No other country has been dressed with such grace,
Or by a messenger bearing a scripture never forsaken.
Or sent a book so eloquently expressed,
مَثوىthe abode of النُبُوَّةِprophethood وَالآياتِand the signs مُعجِزَةٌmiraculous
مَثوى النُبُوَّةِ وَالآياتِ مُعجِزَةٌ
وَالنورِand light يُشرِقُshines مِنهُfrom it كَلُّevery ديجورِdeep darkness
وَالنورِ يُشرِقُ مِنهُ كَلُّ ديجورِ
The abode of prophethood and miraculous signs,
The dwelling of prophethood and miraculous signs,
And of light, from which every darkness grows radiant.
From it shines every gleam of light as it pours.
