أَفاضَpoured forth النَدىbounty فَوقَbeyond الغِنىsufficiency لِلمُسالِمِupon the one at peace
أَفاضَ النَدى فَوقَ الغِنى لِلمُسالِمِ
وَأَفنىand annihilated العِداthe enemies تَحتَbeneath القَناthe lances وَالصَوارِمِand the sharp swords
وَأَفنى العِدا تَحتَ القَنا وَالصَوارِمِ
He poured forth bounty beyond need upon those at peace with him;
The dew overflowed above wealth for Muslims,
and annihilated his enemies beneath lances and sharp swords.
And destroyed the enemies under spears and swords,
عِمادُpillar الهُدةىguidance المَلِكُthe king العَزيزُal-Aziz الَّذيwho بِهِthrough him
عِمادُ الهُدةى المَلِكُ العَزيزُ الَّذي بِهِ
نَمَتgrew مُعظِماتٌgreat deeds فيin فُروعِthe branches of المَكارِمِnoble virtues
نَمَت مُعظِماتٌ في فُروعِ المَكارِمِ
The pillar of guidance, King al-Aziz, through whom
The pillar of guidance, the mighty king, by whom
great deeds grew amid the branches of noble virtues.
Virtues blossomed in branches of nobility,
عَمادُpillar الهُدىguidance المَلِكُthe king العَزيزُal-Aziz بنُson of فاتِحِthe conqueror of الthe
عَمادُ الهُدى المَلِكُ العَزيزُ بنُ فاتِحِ ال
مُقَدَّسِHoly City وَالأَفرَنجِand the Franks أَدهىshrewdest مَعاقِمِadversary in cunning
مُقَدَّسِ وَالأَفرَنجِ أَدهى مَعاقِمِ
The pillar of guidance, King al-Aziz, son of the conqueror of the
The pillar of guidance, the mighty King, son of the opener
Holy City and the Franks, the shrewdest of adversaries.
Of the sacred, who destroyed the power of Franks,
أَفاضَpoured forth النَدىbounty فَوقَbeyond الغِنىsufficiency لِلمُسالِمِupon the one at peace
أَفاضَ النَدى فَوقَ الغِنى لِلمُسالِمِ
وَأَفنىand annihilated عَواديassailing forces مَنwhoever نَباrebelled نَبوَthe defiance of قاحِمِa reckless attacker
وَأَفنى عَوادي مَن نَبا نَبوَ قاحِمِ
He poured forth bounty beyond need upon those at peace with him;
The dew overflowed above wealth for Muslims,
and annihilated the assailing forces of whoever rebelled with a reckless attacker's defiance.
And wiped out those who bark like ferocious camels.
