Sol 6.1

  1. أقبل ذو دولة فقالوا

    لمثل ذا فاتخذ ملاذا

    A man of power approached, and they said,

    “Take someone like this as your refuge.”

  2. فقلت للحاضرين حولي

    أجائز أن يموت هذا

    So I said to those present around me,

    “Is it possible for this man to die?”

  3. قالوا نعم قلت فهو طل

    يعطش من ظنه رذاذا

    They said, “Yes.” I said, “Then he is dew;

    Whoever takes him for drizzle goes thirsty.

  4. قد ذل من لاذ بالفواني

    وعز من بالقديم لاذا

    Indeed, abased is whoever seeks refuge in perishable things,

    And exalted is whoever seeks refuge in the Eternal.”
