وخلق كريم لم يزل طيّب النشر

O master, who surpassed the noble through his glory,

O master, surpassing the generous with his glory,

Oh master who has surpassed the noble in his glory, possessing a generous nature whose fragrance never fades.

And through a noble character, ever sweet in fragrance.

And of noble nature, whose reputation remains sweet,

The beauty of his speech soothes away all worry, and heals the wounded heart of its affliction.

تراه يريح الهم حسن حديثه

تراه يريح الهم حسن حديثه

ويبرئ مكلوم الفؤاد من الضر

ويبرئ مكلوم الفؤاد من الضر

You see how the beauty of his speech eases sorrow,

You see him relieving anxiety with his pleasant talk,

Is there no evening conversation from you with us tonight? For your words are more desirable to me than falling rain.

And cures the brokenhearted of affliction.

And healing the anguished heart from harm,

And if there is an excuse for your absence, then the sweet memory of your virtues suffices me.

ألا سمرٌ منكم بذا الليل عندنا

ألا سمرٌ منكم بذا الليل عندنا

فألفاظكم أشهى إليّ من القطر

فألفاظكم أشهى إليّ من القطر

Will you not share some evening talk with us here tonight?

Would that one of you spend this night with us,

May God's peace be upon you, as long as a lover's heart yearns for union with a beloved throughout all time.

For your words are more delightful to me than rain.

For your words are sweeter to me than rain showers,

وان كان عذراً للتخلف منكم

وان كان عذراً للتخلف منكم

فحسبي من أوصافكم طيب الذكر

فحسبي من أوصافكم طيب الذكر

And if you have an excuse for not coming,

And if there is an excuse for being absent from you,

Then the sweet remembrance of your virtues suffices me.

It is enough for me the sweetness of remembering you,

عليك سلامُ اللَه ما قلب عاشق

لوصل حبيب راح يهوى مدى الدهر

لوصل حبيب راح يهوى مدى الدهر

May God's peace be upon you, as long as a lover's heart

Upon you be the peace of God, for as long as a lover's heart,

Keeps yearning for union with a beloved, through all time.

Yearns for the companionship of the beloved for eternity.
