من مات يعلم أنك الحق المبينْ

من مات يعلم أنك الحق المبينْ

وأنا الذي قد متُّ فيك على اليقينْ

وأنا الذي قد متُّ فيك على اليقينْ

Whoever dies knows that You are the manifest Truth.

He who died knows that You are the Evident Truth

And I am the one who has died in You with certainty.

And I who died in You am certain indeed

وفنيت حتى في وجودك بان لي

وفنيت حتى في وجودك بان لي

كيف التمسُّك منك بالحبل المتينْ

كيف التمسُّك منك بالحبل المتينْ

And I was annihilated, until in Your being it became clear to me

And I vanished even in Your existence, it became clear to me

How holding fast to the firm rope comes from You.

How can I cling to You with the Firm Rope

يا نور نور الكائنات جميعها

يا نور نور الكائنات جميعها

نور على نور هو النور المبينْ

نور على نور هو النور المبينْ

O Light of the light of all created beings,

O Light of light of all creatures

Light upon light—He is the manifest Light.

Light upon Light, It is the Evident Light

أنا ظلمة ظهرت بنور محمد

أنا ظلمة ظهرت بنور محمد

ومحمد نور بنورك مستبينْ

ومحمد نور بنورك مستبينْ

I am darkness revealed by the light of Muhammad,

I am darkness which appeared by the light of Muhammad

And Muhammad is light made manifest by Your light.

And Muhammad is a light by Your Evident Light

والنور بالظلمات يظهر عادة

والنور بالظلمات يظهر عادة

وكذلك الظلمات من نور تَبينْ

وكذلك الظلمات من نور تَبينْ

And light ordinarily appears through darkness,

And light appears normally by darkness

And likewise darkness becomes apparent through light.

And so is darkness made clear by light

نحن التقادير التي قدرتها

نحن التقادير التي قدرتها

في نور نورك يا مهيمن يا معينْ

في نور نورك يا مهيمن يا معينْ

We are the decrees You have ordained

We are the destinies which You have destined

In the light of Your light, O Guardian, O Helper.

In the light of Your Light O All Powerful O Helper

فالطف بنا وامنن علينا بالذي

فالطف بنا وامنن علينا بالذي

نرجوه منك ولا تدعْنا حائرينْ

نرجوه منك ولا تدعْنا حائرينْ

So be gentle with us, and bestow upon us what

So be kind to us and grant us what

We hope for from You, and do not leave us bewildered.

We hope from You and do not leave us confused

وتولَّ حفظ قلوبنا وجسومنا

وتولَّ حفظ قلوبنا وجسومنا

مما يعيب من الأمور وما يشينْ

مما يعيب من الأمور وما يشينْ

And undertake the protection of our hearts and our bodies

And take care to protect our hearts and bodies

From things that blemish and from whatever disgraces.

From that which blemishes and makes ugly

وأعن وثبتنا عن سنن الهدى

وأعن وثبتنا عن سنن الهدى

دنياً وآخرةً كما ترضى ودينْ

دنياً وآخرةً كما ترضى ودينْ

And help us, and make us steadfast concerning the ways of guidance,

And help and make us steadfast upon the ways of guidance

In this world and the hereafter, as You are pleased, and in faith.

In this life and the next as You are pleased and as prescribed

بحبيبك الهادي إليك محمد

بحبيبك الهادي إليك محمد

خير الورى وأجلهم طه الأمينْ

خير الورى وأجلهم طه الأمينْ

By Your beloved Muhammad, who guides to You,

By Your Beloved Guide to You Muhammad

The best of creation and the noblest of them, Taha the Trustworthy,

The best of creation, the most revered, the Trustworthy

وبآله وبصحبه وبحزبه

وبآله وبصحبه وبحزبه

وبمن غدوا أنصاره والتابعينْ

وبمن غدوا أنصاره والتابعينْ

And by his family, his companions, and his followers,

And by his family, companions and party

And by those who became his helpers, and by the followers,

And by those who became his supporters and followers

أبدا عليه كذا عليهم كلهم

أبدا عليه كذا عليهم كلهم

أزكى الصلاة مع السلام بكل حينْ

أزكى الصلاة مع السلام بكل حينْ

Forever upon him, and likewise upon them all,

Forever upon him, and so upon them all

Be the purest blessings, together with peace, at every moment,

The most pure prayer and peace at all times

ما لاح وجه الفجر في شعر الدجى

ما لاح وجه الفجر في شعر الدجى

والشمس مشطت السواد عن الجبينْ

والشمس مشطت السواد عن الجبينْ

As long as dawn's face gleams in the hair of night,

When the face of dawn shone in the hair of night

And the sun combs the blackness from the brow.

And the sun combed out the blackness from the brow
