1. من لعبدٍ بجسمه السقم بادي

    بين أيدي حواسد وأعادي

    Who will aid a servant whose body shows sickness,

    Amid enviers and enemies,

  2. وعيون قد أحدقت بازورارٍ

    وخزتني مثل السيوف الحداد

    And eyes that have encircled me with aversion,

    Piercing me like sharp swords,

  3. وقلوب كأنما البغض فيها

    جمر نار تبدو من الأجساد

    And hearts, as though the hatred within them were

    Embers of a fire emerging from their bodies,

  4. صاعدات أنفاسها كدخان

    منه يعلو الوجوه صبغ السواد

    Their breaths rising like smoke,

    From which a black stain overspreads their faces?

  5. كل هذا لأنهم ينظروني

    في ارتقاء إلى العلا وازدياد

    All this because they see me

    Rising toward the heights and ever advancing,

  6. وصفاء وصحة وسرور

    وكمال يرونه ورشاد

    And in purity, health, and joy,

    And perfection they behold, and right guidance.

  7. ويرون الإله يحفظني في

    كل حال يكون بين العباد

    And they see God protecting me in

    Every circumstance that arises among His servants.

  8. إن ربي حسبي عليهم جميعاً

    وهو نعم الوكيل وهو اعتمادي

    Indeed, my Lord suffices me against them all,

    And He is an excellent guardian, and He is my reliance.
