طاء طيب الطباع في الأقساطِ

طهرتني للمشي فوق البساطِ

The Ṭāʾ of good nature in the allotted shares

Pure of nature in portions,

purified me to walk upon the carpet.

She purified me to walk upon the carpet,

وجعلنا نوراً لها هو يمشي

وجعلنا نوراً لها هو يمشي

صار في ناسه به بانضباط

صار في ناسه به بانضباط

And we made a light for her; he walks.

And made us a light for it as it walks,

He came to be among his people through it, in due order.

It became disciplined through it among the people.

والذي يعرف الموازين يدري

والذي يعرف الموازين يدري

كيف يمشي على متون الصراط

كيف يمشي على متون الصراط

And whoever knows the scales understands

And the one who knows the scales knows,

how to walk upon the ridges of the Path.

How to walk on the backs of the path.

طيبة فاحت الروائح منها

طيبة فاحت الروائح منها

فهي كالبحر والتغاير شاطي

فهي كالبحر والتغاير شاطي

She is fragrant; scents wafted from her.

Pure, fragrant aromas emanating from it,

So she is like the sea, and difference is a shore.

It is like an ocean with shores differing.

والذي ينشق المعارف يحظى

والذي ينشق المعارف يحظى

بأواني مملوءة وبواطي

بأواني مملوءة وبواطي

And whoever inhales knowledge is favored

And the one who unravels knowledge is granted,

with full vessels and drinking bowls.

Vessels filled and ample.

طعم هذا حلو وذا غير حلو

طعم هذا حلو وذا غير حلو

وهي تسقي بصيِّبٍ غير خاطي

وهي تسقي بصيِّبٍ غير خاطي

This tastes sweet, and that is not sweet.

The taste of this is sweet and that not sweet,

And she gives drink with an unerring downpour.

And it serves with a pouring that does not err.
