The servant amuses himself and is heedless;
The servant plays and is heedless,
And the Lord is above and below,
While the Lord is above and below.

Encompassing everything.
He encompasses all things,
Alas for the one who fled from Him in fright!
Woe to him who is oblivious of Him.

So look to Him; you will find Him
So look to Him and you will find Him
Taking responsibility for everything.
Taking charge of everything.

So whenever he sought to rise,
So whenever he tries to ascend,
She distracted him until he sank low.
They distract him until he descends.

One who offered voluntary devotions to his Lord,
Except one who turns devotedly to his Lord,

Until he becomes for Him a hearing
And an eye that does not grow heedless.
And sight, not oblivious.

From the True One he has a host—
For him are troops from the Truth
Granting him victory—and a mighty army.
That give him support and victory.
