لحي سلمى شدوا الركائب — Abd Al Ghani Al Nabulsi

لحيِّ سلمى شدوا الركائبْ

قد زاد شوقي إلى الحبائبْ

Saddle the riding camels for Salma's tribe;

Indeed, my longing for the beloved ones has grown.

أواه سهم البعاد صائب

والقلب ذائب

Alas, the arrow of separation strikes true,

And the heart is melting.

بالله يا ريم أرض رامه

أنل فؤادي الشجي مرامه

By God, O gazelle of Rama's land,

Grant my sorrowful heart its desire.

وأنت يا برق من تهامه

هجت النجائب

And you, O lightning from Tihama,

You have roused the noble riding camels.

يا ليلة السفح من زرود

لنا ولو في المنام عودي

O night on the slope of Zarud,

Return to us, even if only in a dream.

وأنجزي باللقا وعودي

فالضد غائب

And fulfill, through reunion, the promises made to me,

For the adversary is absent.

صلاة ربي على التهامي

وآله السادة الكرام

My Lord's blessing be upon the Tihami,

And upon his family, the noble masters.

عبد الغني صار فيه سامي

وليس خائب

Abd al-Ghani has become exalted through him,

And is not disappointed.
