Pharaoh indeed sought to follow his father, al-Khidr.
Pharaoh wished to follow in his forefathers' path
A claim made by his own self—so he placed himself at the forefront.
Claiming with his soul, he put himself ahead

حتى غرق فاحترق بالنار نار القدر
And he said, “I am your Lord,” through the self behind the veil.
And said "I am your Lord" with his dull soul
Until he drowned, then burned in the fire—the fire of destiny.
Until he drowned and burned in the fire of fate
