O you who have possessed my soul with your charms,

And toward him I turned with all my being, and toward no other.

And it is him I mean when I say, “My beloveds.”

Love is yours alone, and my affection has chosen you.

I am jealous over you, even of your two angels.

My eye remains ever gladdened by your face.

And the heart harbors a secret from you concerning you.

And I am the one whose mind has grown more bewildered through you.

So, if I could, I would forbid your speech out of jealousy,

Because I see it kissing your two lips.

O you who gather me through his scattered speech,

From every side, I turn toward you.

I yearn for you, and my passion for you has never ceased.

And I see you sway in those graces of yours that

Are my enchantment; so I am jealous over you even of yourself.
