Sol 6.1

  1. يا عقل كم منك قلة الأدبِ

    في الله فاسجد إليه واقتربِ

    O intellect, how great your lack of reverence

    toward God! Prostrate yourself to Him and draw near.

  2. تجول في الكائنات تطلبه

    كطالب جذوة من اللهب

    You roam among created things, seeking Him,

    like one seeking an ember from the flame

  3. في جوف ماء يدور فيه ولا

    تراه يوما يفوز بالأرب

    in the depths of water, circling within it; never

    do you see him attain his desire.

  4. فجذوة النار يستحيل بأن

    تكون في الماء رح بلا تعب

    For it is impossible for an ember of fire

    to be in water. Go, without wearying yourself.

  5. كذاك حق اليقين خالقنا

    وجود حق محقق الرتب

    Likewise, with absolute certainty, our Creator

    is true Being, with firmly established degrees.

  6. وكل شيء به بدا عدمٌ

    مقدر كالستور والحجب

    And everything that appears through Him is nonbeing,

    posited, like curtains and veils.

  7. فاعرف به نفسك الحقيرة لا

    تغفل وكن قائماً به تصب

    So know through Him your lowly self; do not

    be heedless; stand through Him, and you will be right.

  8. واعبد به مؤمناً بملته

    ومخلصاً دينه عن الريب

    And worship through Him, believing in His religion,

    and purifying His religion of doubt.

  9. واحذر من الفكر فيه إنك لا

    تقدر تدري أَثِمْتَ فلتتب

    And beware of speculation about Him, for you are not

    able to know. You have sinned, so repent.

  10. ولا تغالط وكن على وجل

    منه ودم به جاهلاً وغبي

    And do not use sophistry; remain in fear

    of Him, and remain ignorant and uncomprehending about Him.

  11. فإنه الله في الغيوب متى

    شهدته أنت ظاهراً يغب

    For He is God in the unseen realms; whenever

    you yourself behold Him manifest, He vanishes.
