ظهر النور من النور ولا

نور إلا واحد ما انتقلا

نور إلا واحد ما انتقلا

Light appeared from light, and no

The light emerged from the light, neither

Light exists but one, which has not moved.

Transferring, except the One light unchanged

وهما سيان في الفرق كما

وهما سيان في الفرق كما

أن ذا النورين شخص كملا

أن ذا النورين شخص كملا

And the two are alike in distinction, just as

And they are equal in difference, as

The bearer of the two lights is a person made complete.

That of the two lights is one perfect person

وهما في الجمع شيء واحد

وهما في الجمع شيء واحد

والتفاصيل تحوز الجملا

والتفاصيل تحوز الجملا

And in union the two are one thing,

And together they are one thing

And the particulars encompass the wholes.

And details contain the whole

قول كن عين الذي قال غدت

قول كن عين الذي قال غدت

وبها القرآن فينا نزلا

وبها القرآن فينا نزلا

The utterance 'Be!' became the very essence of the one who spoke,

Say "Be" is the eye of Him who said and

And through it the Qur'an descended within us.

With it the Quran in us descended

وجميع الكون في نشأته

وجميع الكون في نشأته

واحد ما قد علا أوسفلا

واحد ما قد علا أوسفلا

And all existence, in its coming into being,

And the entire universe in its inception

Is one, whatever has risen high or sunk low.

Is one, lofty or lowly

وأنا أنت كما أنت أنا

وأنا أنت كما أنت أنا

وبدا نجم ونجم أفلا

وبدا نجم ونجم أفلا

And I am you, just as you are I,

You and I are as you are me

And a star appeared, and a star set.

A star appeared and a star set

والذي نعرفه أجمعه

والذي نعرفه أجمعه

هو أنت انضمَّ حتى حصلا

هو أنت انضمَّ حتى حصلا

And all that we know

What we know altogether

Is you, joined together until it came to be.

Is you, joined until fulfilled

ولقد أظهرت ما أكتمه

ولقد أظهرت ما أكتمه

لك إن كنت الذي قد عقلا

لك إن كنت الذي قد عقلا

And I have indeed revealed what I conceal

And I have shown you what I conceal

To you, if you are the one who has understood.

For you, if you are who has reasoned

نزل القرآن فرقاناً لنا

نزل القرآن فرقاناً لنا

فتلوناه كما النور تلا

فتلوناه كما النور تلا

The Qur'an descended as a criterion for us,

The Quran descended as our criterion

So we recited it, just as the light recited.

Yet we colored it as the light was colored

وهو نحن الآن نبديه لكم

وهو نحن الآن نبديه لكم

كيف شئنا واضحاً مكتملا

كيف شئنا واضحاً مكتملا

And it is we; now we reveal it to you,

And it is us now manifesting it for you

However we wish, clear and complete.
