    Letters—in their stillness lies annihilation.

    And in His existence they are assimilated,

    in the existence of the Real, besides whom there is none.

    So upon Him, through Him, and from Him be peace.

    Indeed, the assimilation of the cosmos's letters into Him,

    because of a stillness within them, is the bestowal of grace.

    فاستقلت وفاتها الإدغام

    So whenever they move, it is released from them;

    then they become independent, and assimilation eludes them.

    And for this reason my Lord says: His is whatever

    rests by night and day, forever.

    Thus, without stillness, there would be no assimilation

    of them into Him, nor any sustaining of them.

    ق اختلاف لها به وانقسام

    The letters of created things arise from the breath of the Real;

    through it, they differ and divide.

    Then, whenever they are composed into words,

    these are recited, and together they form speech.

    His utterance is the truth; so listen, O son of my love.

    And all else is falsehood—it is illusion.

    Exalted is the Lord, through whom creation subsists,

    not through knowledge; and those who know stand firm.
