1. إن المولى في كل حالٍ معنا

    لولاه لما نلنا الهدى لولاه

    Indeed, the Master is with us in every state.

    Were it not for Him, we would not have attained guidance—were it not for Him.

  2. ما الروح وما الجسم الذي في المغنى

    ما النفس وما الأشكال والأشباه

    What is the spirit, and what is the body within the dwelling?

    What is the self, and what are forms and likenesses?

  3. ما القرب وما أهل المقام الأسنى

    ما البعد ومن بالجهل فيه تاهو

    What is nearness, and who are the people of the loftiest station?

    What is remoteness, and who are those who have wandered in it through ignorance?

  4. الكل إشارة وأنت المعنى

    يا من هو لا إله إلا اللهُ

    All is a sign, and You are the meaning.

    O You who are He—there is no god but God!

  5. قلبي يا رب جاء بالتوحيدِ

    يرجو منك القبول للأعمالِ

    My heart, O Lord, has come affirming divine oneness,

    Hoping that You will accept its deeds.

  6. والنطق على التسبيح والتحيمدِ

    قد واظب في البكور والآصالِ

    And speech, in glorification and praise,

    Has remained constant at daybreak and in the late afternoons.

  7. فاغفر وارحم آباءنا والأبنا

    منا دعتِ القلوبُ والأفواهُ

    So forgive and have mercy on our fathers and sons.

    Our hearts and mouths have called upon You.

  8. الكل إشارة وأنت المعنى

    يا من هو لا إله إلا اللهُ

    All is a sign, and You are the meaning.

    O You who are He—there is no god but God!

  9. نور الأسماء لاح في الأكوانِ

    فانظره به تراه لا بالنفسِ

    The light of the Names has shone in the worlds.

    So behold it through itself; you will see it, not through the self.

  10. واترك عنه الوقوف مع ذا الفاني

    كم تصبح باللهو به كم تمسي

    And cease lingering apart from it with this transient thing.

    How often you greet morning playing with it; how often evening!

  11. العمر مضى وما ملكت الأدنى

    من زادك ما السوى وما معناه

    Life has passed, and you have not acquired even the least

    Of your provision. What is all else, and what is its meaning?

  12. الكل إشارة وأنت المعنى

    يا من هو لا إله إلا اللهُ

    All is a sign, and You are the meaning.

    O You who are He—there is no god but God!

  13. لله على طول المدى ألطافُ

    في الخلق بها قد حارت الأفكارُ

    God has subtle graces throughout the span of time,

    Within creation, at which minds have stood bewildered.

  14. والفضل له والجود والإنصافُ

    يدري هذا من عنده استبصارُ

    And bounty is His, and generosity and justice.

    Whoever has insight knows this.

  15. فاقنع بالله إنه قد أغنى

    عن ذاك وذا ودع لما تهواهُ

    So be content with God: He has made you independent

    Of that and this; bid farewell to what you desire.

  16. الكل إشارة وأنت المعنى

    يا من هو لا إله إلا اللهُ

    All is a sign, and You are the meaning.

    O You who are He—there is no god but God!

  17. رحمن العرش قد تجلى فينا

    بالصنع وبالإيجاد والإعدامِ

    The All-Merciful of the Throne has manifested Himself in us,

    Through making, bringing into being, and annihilation.

  18. والغفلة عنه كم أزالت دينا

    حتى أغوت من كثرة الآثامِ

    And heedlessness of Him—how often it has swept away faith,

    Until it led people astray because of a multitude of sins.

  19. والفائز كل من تراه يفنى

    لا يقصد دنياه ولا أخراهُ

    And whoever you see becoming effaced is the one who succeeds,

    Seeking neither his worldly life nor his hereafter.

  20. الكل إشارة وأنت المعنى

    يا من هو لا إله إلا اللهُ

    All is a sign, and You are the meaning.

    O You who are He—there is no god but God!

  21. الحق هو الباطن وهو الظاهرْ

    فاعرض عمن سواه تحظى فيه

    The Real—He is the Hidden, and He is the Manifest.

    So turn away from all besides Him; you will find favor in Him.

  22. في الكون لقد بدا سناه باهرْ

    لم يخف سوى عن الذي يخفيه

    In the universe, His radiance has indeed appeared, dazzling.

    He has been hidden only from the one who conceals Him.

  23. والليل مع النهار عنه أثنى

    والأرض مع السماء والأمواهُ

    And night, along with day, has spoken His praise,

    And the earth, along with the sky and the waters.

  24. الكل إشارة وأنت المعنى

    يا من هو لا إله إلا اللهُ

    All is a sign, and You are the meaning.

    O You who are He—there is no god but God!

  25. صلي يا ربنا على المختار

    ذي المجد وذي الفخر وذي العلياء

    Send blessings, O our Lord, upon the Chosen One,

    Possessor of glory, honor, and exalted rank,

  26. والآل مع الصحابة الأخيار

    أهل التقوى كواكب الهيجاء

    And his family, together with the virtuous Companions,

    People of piety, stars of battle,

  27. مع تابعهم ما قال لما أكنَى

    يوما عبد الغني عن مولاهُ

    Together with their follower, whenever he spoke in allusion,

    Abd al-Ghani, one day, of his Master:

    All is a sign, and You are the meaning.

    O You who are He—there is no god but God!
