O bats of manifestation,

O bats of illumination

none but He has appeared.

I have a beloved—rather, a physician,

I incline away from Him, my inclination is turned

toward Him at once, by Him.

O intellect that has

been bewildered in comprehending Him,

Become confused in comprehending Him

لا تعاند أنت مملو

كٌ وفي تصريف هو

do not resist; you are

owned, and under His control.

And in His management, He

كم إلى كم أنت عنه

كم إلى كم أنت عنه

في التهاء بل به

How long—until when—are you away from Him,

How far to how far are you from Him

in distraction? Rather, with Him

Distracted, rather with Him

you are occupied, and do not

You are busy and unaware that

know; for He has distracted you.
